The Engineering Prelude: Where it All Began

The Engineering Prelude: Where it All Began

During my mechanical engineering undergrad, I found myself drawn to the intersection of form and function. This curiosity led me to design the Arc Foldable E-reader that merged my love for books with my technical skills. Little did I know this was just the beginning of my design journey.

After college, I dove headfirst into the world of design, teaching myself UX Design, UX research, and Figma. Armed with newfound skills, I founded Kredey, a platform for sharing written content. It was a wild ride of building a team, facing challenges, and ultimately learning invaluable lessons about product design and development.

The Kredey Rollercoaster: Triumphs, Trials, and Tacos

The 2-year Kredey journey was a rollercoaster of emotions – exhilarating highs and crushing lows. We were a small but mighty team of five, fueled by caffeine and the dream of revolutionizing knowledge sharing. While Kredey didn't achieve the success we envisioned, it taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of tacos during late-night brainstorming sessions.

The Accidental PM: From Design to Delivery at Ernst & Young(EY)

A friend's manager at EY was looking for a designer with business acumen, and she recommended me for the role. Though the team lacked a formal design role title at the time, so I joined as a Business Analyst. I quickly found myself wearing multiple hats, including product designer and assistant product manager. Leading a project for Asia's biggest paint company and navigating the complexities of enterprise software was a crash course in design leadership and product management.

Despite my diverse experiences, I felt a burning desire to deepen my design expertise. That's when I answered the call of California and enrolled in the Master's of Interaction Design program at CCA. Immersing myself in the epicentre of the tech world (San Francisco), I honed my skills and tackled impactful projects like Zero/Out. Now, working with ACCFB, I'm using design to make a real difference in the community.
